Beyond Repair: The New Era of Skin Regeneration
Clé de Peau Beauté
With over 25 years of beauty expertise, Nathalie Broussard talks about her passion for skin research and the innovation behind the new Restorative Cream Supreme.
Nathalie, you’ve been working in skincare and cosmetic science for more than 25 years. What still fascinates you about it today?
I get to do exactly the job I dreamed of as a teenager. My passion for cosmetics has always been there, but since I’m very analytical by nature, my path led me through science. I need to understand why something works—not just that it works.
And that’s exactly what continues to inspire me today: this field never stands still. New active ingredients, formulation technologies, and insights into the biology of the skin ensure that, even after more than 25 years, I’m still learning something new every day.
Your career has taken you from research and development through marketing and training to science communication. What have you taken away from these experiences?
Each of these stages taught me a different language. In Research & Development, I learned to think in terms of physiology, molecules, and mechanisms. In marketing and training, on the other hand, I learned to translate that complexity in a way that people can relate to.
Today, my goal is to make science understandable without oversimplifying it. Science should inspire, not intimidate—and it should never feel exclusive.
From “Repair” to “Recovery”
With the new Restorative Cream Supreme, Clé de Peau Beauté is putting the skin’s regenerative capacity front and center. What was the vision behind the product?
We wanted to go beyond traditional skin repair and develop an approach that focuses on skin recovery—that is, the skin’s ability to recover and regenerate.
Today’s consumers no longer want to simply correct visible damage; they also want to strengthen their skin’s ability to recover and better resist future signs of aging. The growing interest in longevity is shifting the focus from correction to long-term maintenance.
The Restorative Cream Supreme addresses this trend and is designed to support the skin’s long-term vitality and resilience.
How does this approach differ from traditional anti-aging skincare?
Many anti-aging products focus on the visible effects of aging. Restorative Cream Supreme takes a more proactive approach: It focuses on the biological mechanisms that help the skin regenerate and maintain its vitality over the long term.
This innovation is based on more than 20 years of expertise in regeneration research. The goal is not only to compensate for the losses associated with signs of aging but also to restore the biological conditions of youthful skin.
Ruby Peptide: The Hero Innovation
Ruby Peptide plays a central role in the formula. What makes this active ingredient so special?
Ruby Peptide targets something that Clé de Peau Beauté has identified as a fundamental source of the skin’s regenerative potential: the nutrient supply network.
As we age, this network can become less efficient at delivering the nutrients necessary for optimal skin function. Our exclusive Ruby Peptide supports optimal conditions for this network. By helping nutrients reach the skin more effectively, it supports the natural regeneration process. Thus, the focus is not only on treating visible signs of aging but also on the skin’s own ability to regenerate.
At Clé de Peau Beauté, high-tech is meant to be luxurious. How is this reflected in the Restorative Cream Supreme?
For us, scientific innovation and sensory experience are never considered separately. We believe that effectiveness alone is not enough. A product should also convey pleasure and comfort with every application.
One example is the “melts on contact with the skin” texture of the Restorative Cream Supreme. It is not only sensory but also functional: the unique, patent-pending formulation structure facilitates deeper penetration of the active ingredients into the skin.
“Consistency is more important than complexity.”
After more than 25 years in skincare research: What is your most important personal beauty tip?
The most important lesson of my career is that consistency is more important than complexity. Beautiful skin is based on simple habits we practice every day: UV protection, a healthy lifestyle, adequate sleep, and the regular, proper use of skincare products.
Healthy skin also reflects our overall well-being. Scientific innovation can help the skin function optimally—but our daily habits remain crucial.
